Collectible snuffbox issued for the 1878 Universal Exhibition in Paris.

The body is made of black horn, and the lid is adorned with geometric marquetry in bone and tortoiseshell, with a photo of the Trocadéro Palace under celluloid in the center.

Celluloid, the first artificial plastic material in history, was one of the great technological innovations presented during this 1878 Exhibition.

Good general condition, note signs of wear and small losses on the inner left edge of the lid.
