Large 18th-century Delft earthenware dish – Bird and fence pattern

DELFT (Netherlands) - 18th century

Large circular polychrome earthenware platter with grand feu decoration, known as the "barrier and bird" pattern.

In the center, a wading bird perched on a flowered mound, next to a geometric yellow and blue barrier and floral motifs.

The rim is adorned with a frieze alternating between reserves and stylized floral motifs.

Superb bluish-white glaze. Very light calcareous paste visible on the edge.

Dimensions: 35 cm. Height: 6 cm.

Condition: Good original condition, signs of wear on the border.
