Active from 1846 to 1870 in Paris.
The Favier goldsmiths were the most famous makers of chalices and other religious objects.
Plain silver cup, vermeil interior.
The false silver-gilt cup is decorated with a frieze of interlacing supporting three medallions adorned with the faces of Christ, the Virgin and Saint Paul. They are joined by bouquets of wheat, rushes and vine branches.
The stem is very short and the node is ringed.
For the foot, the marly is decorated with sheaves of wheat and rushes and the instruments of the Passion. The flat part is decorated with three cherubs in medallion, worked in repoussé.
Minerva hallmark 1st grade.
Weight: 358 g.
Good condition, but a small piece of the frieze on the false cup is missing. Visible in the photos.
